
THE COUNTDOWN TO the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games has begun.
CBC/Radio-Canada, today released highlights of its upcoming Olympics coverage. The Games, which will run from Feb. 4 to Feb. 20, 2022, will feature seven sports, 109 medial events and will take place across 13 competition venues, a CBC press release says.
CBC/Radio-Canada’s coverage will include broadcasts from every venue and will feature Canadian medal-winning moments, making up a total of over 3,500 hours of live content across all the broadcaster’s platforms. TSN, RDS and Sportsnet will also offer live event coverage, according to the press release.
“CBC Sports and Radio-Canada Sports are also the digital homes to Beijing 2022, offering Olympic-themed content year-round,” the release says. “Canadians will be able to stay connected via the CBC Sports and Radio-Canada Sports websites, the CBC Sports and Radio-Canada Sports apps, the free CBC Gem and ICI TOU.TV streaming services.”
In the lead up to the Games, throughout December and January, CBC Sports will broadcast Road to the Olympic Games, which will be available on CBC TV and CBC Gem weekly.
Additionally, starting Dec. 21, Radio-Canada Sports will broadcast Le rêve Olympique, which is an eight-part “original series of athletes’ portraits profiling top Canadian Beijing 2022 medal hopefuls,” the press release says. It will be available on ICI TÉLÉ, ICI RDI and ICI TOU.TV.
