Evanov’s Z103.5 launches new morning show

TORONTO — Radio broadcasting company Evanov Communications announced today the launch of a new morning show on its flagship Toronto station Z103.5 (CIDC-FM) — Z Mornings with Rick Campanelli and Sandra Crofford — which airs weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET.

Campanelli is a well-known Canadian TV personality, having worked as a VJ and host at Much Music for over 10 years and then later as a reporter and co-host of ET Canada for a further 12 years.

Crofford has been in radio in various markets across Canada and has been Z103.5’s midday host (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) for the last year.

“With a wealth of media and broadcast experience, this newly paired exciting team will light-up the morning across Southern Ontario with great music, entertaining news and information relevant for the times and the audience,” reads an Evanov press release.

The new morning show will feature newscasts at 6 a.m., 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., along with regular traffic updates.

“Rick and Sandra will be playing all your favourites hits from the 80s, 90s and 2000s along with the ‘Wayback Wakeup’ after the 7 a.m. newscast. In addition, Rick will be providing all the headlines locally and from around the world, including the latest gossip from Hollywood with ‘What’s Trending’ at 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Just after ‘What’s Trending’ at 8:30, DJ Drew will be mixing-up All the Hits with the daily ‘Z Morning Mix’,” the release reads.

“As we know, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world. The radio landscape is no different and has needed to evolve and adapt to the times,” said Z103.5’s program director and music director, Matt Wreggitt, in the press release.

“In this context, we felt it was time to introduce an exciting new morning team. We are certain Rick and Sandra will provide entertaining programming to our listeners and deliver what our listeners want and need to hear.”
