Plus, Bell MTS expanding in the Pembina Valley region
FREDERICTON, HALIFAX and WINNIPEG – Bell announced this week it is expanding its pure fibre Internet service in Memramcook, St. Martins, Barrington Passage and Brass Hill.
By the end of the year approximately 2,900 locations in Memramcook and St. Martins will have all-fibre broadband access, says a Bell press release.
In the same time frame, around 900 locations in the Municipality of Barrington will gain access to all-fibre broadband, a separate press release says.
Both projects are fully funded by Bell and “will provide fast and high-capacity 100% fibre connections with Internet download speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps and access to leading Bell services such as Fibe TV,” the press releases say.
The expansions are part of the company’s “accelerated capital investment in national next-generation network infrastructure.”
Bell MTS also announced this week it plans on expanding its “all-fibre broadband network to homes and businesses in Altona, Plum Coulee, Emerson and Morris,” another press release says.
Beginning this fall, the project, which is also being fully funded by Bell, will “bring direct fibre connections to approximately 4,500 new locations in the Pembina Valley region.”
Bell MTS is currently “nearing completion of its fibre rollout in Morden,” which was announced in May 2020 and will “will provide Gigabit Fibe Internet, Whole Home Wi-Fi and Fibe TV service for approximately 3,300 homes and business locations in the Pembina Valley city by the end of 2021,” the press release says.
