Upfront 2021: Quebecor shows off a multiplatform 2021-22 season

MONTREAL — At its Multi2021 virtual event on Thursday, Quebecor’s advertising sales group, Quebecor Expertise Media, showcased a revamped line-up of programming from the TVA network and TVA Sports, as well as new innovative products which provide effective customized solutions for advertisers, the company says.

At the end of the summer, Quebecor will introduce QUB, a new platform which will bring together content from all of Quebecor’s divisions. Available on the web and via a mobile app, this library of content will feature the work of Quebecor’s artists and crews from all of the company’s brands, delivered through a personalized feed, says the company’s press release. Starting in the winter of 2022, QUB (now just an audio platform) will also carry exclusive high-quality content, making it a destination of choice for Québec audiences and offering advertisers an array of opportunities, supported by first-party data collected with the consent of users and an advanced interface for incorporating their content into the first-rate editorial environments, says the release.

Among the new products for advertisers highlighted by Quebecor is Echo, a brand-new technology that lists the mobile devices that passed by a transit shelter so they can be targeted with reminders and reinforcers, and the Street-Level Tour site, where users can explore Quebecor’s transit shelter network and view demographic data on strategic Montréal neighbourhoods. Duo Q-ID, the new marketing intelligence platform for the entire Quebecor ecosystem, was also showcased. This service uses data from Quebecor and its partners to provide a deeper understanding of the target audience’s consumption habits and support more strategic activations on Quebecor’s traditional and digital media outlets alike, says the announcement.

Notable programs on the 2021-2022 schedule include TVA’s news and current events content and cooking shows whose content is being repurposed across the Quebecor ecosystem. Marilou and her new show Trois fois par jour et vous are sure to make a splash when they make their appearance on TVA and Zeste. On the sports scene, TVA Sports will feature a host of live events, relevant, up-to-date digital content, and a brand-new format for Dave Morissette’s popular show.

In the fall 2021 season, TVA will carry a full schedule of dramas and entertainment programming, enhanced by increased spending on original productions, says the press release. Many favourites will be back, including Salut Bonjour, La Tour, Révolution 3 (above), Si on s’aimait, Star Académie and Marie-Claude Barrette in an all-new format. They will be joined by a list of new shows, including: Chanteurs masqués, the Québec version of the international hit The Masked Singer; Les moments parfaits, a saga about three generations of a family; Chaos, a powerful drama series developed by Josélito Michaud; and the reality show L’île de l’amour, shot on the beaches of Mexico and based on the global success Love Island.

Finally, on the digital front, TVA+ will offer television events such as Révolution, Chanteurs masqués, La Tour and Trois fois par jour et vous, the L’île de l’amour dailies and a roster of popular movies.
