TORONTO – Rogers Communications announced today it will begin offering smartphone repair services at select Rogers retail locations.
Rogers will bring WeFix smartphone repair services, in partnership with its owner Brightstar Device Protection, to select Rogers stores across the GTA starting today making Rogers outlets a one-stop-shop for all their customers’ device needs. In April this year, Brightstar (which already offers device insurance to Rogers customers) acquired the U.K.’s WeFix, a “manufacturer-approved” smartphone repair company.
“With this service, Canadians can get their smartphones repaired by an expert at one of our Rogers stores, within hours, and have it backed by a 90-day guarantee whether they want to keep it for themselves or to hand it down to a friend or family member,” said Brent Johnston, Rogers’s wireless president, in the press release.
Customers will be able to have a variety of smartphone issues fixed, including problems with batteries, broken screens, cameras, audio, software, and more, within hours. Rogers will also offer real-time notifications and online tracking of the repair.
The program is launching first in 11 Rogers stores across the Greater Toronto Area, including in Toronto, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham and Oshawa, and expanding in the coming weeks to additional Rogers locations in the GTA. In 2021, the program will expand to stores across the country.
