TORONTO — Corus Entertainment’s Global announced Tuesday it is adding several newly licensed series to its fall primetime schedule.
Adding to Global’s mix of TV genres, the scripted true crime series Manhunt: Deadly Games, which chronicles the search for the perpetrator of the deadly terrorist attack at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, will premiere Monday, September 21 at 10 p.m.
Another scripted series, the critically acclaimed comedy One Day at a Time, inspired by Norman Lear’s 1975 show of the same name, will debut Monday, October 12 at 9 p.m. on Global.
In addition, new reality series set to premiere on Global this fall include I Can See Your Voice (September 23 at 9 p.m.), hosted and executive produced by comedian and actor Ken Jeong, and The Greatest #AtHome Videos (September 25 at 8 p.m.), hosted by The Neighborhood’s Cedric the Entertainer.
Also joining Global’s fall schedule are documentary series The FBI Declassified (October 13 at 10 p.m.) and 48 Hours: Suspicion (September 9 at 10 p.m.), a special edition of 48 Hours.
Global also picked up country music special, the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards (September 16 at 8 p.m.).
These new acquisitions join previously announced falls series and specials, including the Canadian premiere of Global Original event series Departure (October 8 at 10 p.m.), new A.I. thriller neXt (October 6 at 9 p.m.), the 2020 Canadian Country Music Association Awards (September 27 at 9 p.m.), and news series 60 Minutes (September 20 at 7 p.m.) and 48 Hours (September 26 at 10 p.m.).
“Global is excited to deliver a strong fall lineup, jam-packed with new and original content for viewers,” said Troy Reeb, executive vice-president of broadcast networks at Corus Entertainment, in the Global news release. “Despite all the concern about production shutdowns, Global is well-positioned to deliver and maintain big audiences throughout the season as we head into the next round of premieres of our big, scripted programs later this fall.”
