Samsung introduces Galaxy Z Fold2 5G

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Samsung Electronics Canada today unveiled its third-generation foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G (pictured), which can be pre-ordered today for a whopping $2,800.

The original Galaxy Fold was launched in Canada just before Christmas last year, and the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold2 5G comes less than a month after Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5G foldable smartphone became available. (The Galaxy Z Fold2 5G folds lengthwise, while the Galaxy Z Flip 5G folds across its width.)

Some of the enhancements of the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, compared to the Galaxy Fold, include a larger cover screen (6.2 inches) and larger main screen (7.6 inches). The device’s Infinity-O cover screen lets users check email or view content without needing to unfold the device every time. In addition, the cover screen now acts as a viewfinder for the rear camera when the device is unfolded, thanks to the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G’s Flex mode. By using the main and cover screen at the same time with dual preview, both the photographer and subject can see what’s being captured in the photo.

The Galaxy Z Fold2 5G is available for pre-order in Canada in mystic bronze and mystic black colours, starting today at Samsung.com/ca and in Samsung Experience Stores across Canada. Starting September 18, the device will be available for purchase in Canada from Samsung, and exclusively from wireless provider Bell Canada.
