
VANCOUVER – The world’s first LGBTQ+ television network OUTtv, announced Wednesday it has commissioned five new shows.
They are: a pilot for Group Sext from GoButton; Cam Boy from Emotion Pictures; Cannonball from Kiss Off Entertainment and Corner Piece Creative; The Browns from Producers Entertainment Group; and the renewal of a third season of Knock Knock Ghost from Sonic Nursery Group (pictured).
“During a time where a vast number of productions are experiencing a standstill in filming, we are delighted to commission five new shows to OUTtv, including a pilot for Group Sext, a show filmed within the confines of lockdown through Zoom,” said Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv. “As more people are staying home, we are noticing a demand for new content and are thrilled to be able to add these news shows to our programming roster.”
Group Sext is a reality show hosted by drag queen, Crystal (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK). One Masterdater is given a shot at finding love or at least a sexting buddy. While assessing flirty, steamy and memorable texts, videos and picture messages, the master dater will whittle the 10 sexters down to one for a video call.
Cam Boy (8 episodes x 30 minutes) is a scripted series created by Thom Fitzgerald (Sex and Violence, Forgive Me, The Hanging Garden). When Aston finds himself left to his own devices with bills to pay while his boyfriend is in New York he turns to camming to make ends meet.
Cannonball (6 x 10 digital series) a comedy series that follows private investigators Katie Ball and Tig Ohanian as they take on wild and wacky cases, wreaking havoc wherever they go.
The Browns (3 x 30’) is a comedy series featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni Tammie Brown. The show focuses on the Brown family, an upper middle-class American family, living in Los Angeles.
Knock Knock Ghost (6 x 60’) returns to OUTtv for a third season. Richard Ryder and tech guru Brie Doyle welcome A-list Psychic Kevin Whitaker to the team to help connect with those beyond the grave. The team take to the roads to find the funniest haunted locations in Canada.
In 2020 OUTtv has commissioned over 25 new productions with over 50 new commissions from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK and the United States since January 2019.
