MONTREAL — Bell Canada launched today its new Bell Streamer, an all-in-one 4K HDR streaming device included with all new Bell Alt TV Premium subscriptions. Alt TV is Bell’s app-based live TV streaming service.
Powered by Android TV, the compact Bell Streamer device (6.5 cm x 6.5 cm) offers TV customers in Ontario and Quebec one-stop access to Alt, Crave, CTV, Fibe TV, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, DAZN, hayu, CBC Gem, ICI Tou.tv, Tubi and others.
Bell Streamer also offers access to thousands of apps via Google Play, and features a remote control with one-button access to Google Assistant (for voice control) and the ability for users to cast videos and other content from mobile devices to their TV with Chromecast built in.
“The tiny but powerful Bell Streamer is a major breakthrough in providing a simplified and convenient way to access all the content you want on the screen of your choice,” said Rizwan Jamal, president of Bell Residential Services, in the news release.
Bell’s launch of Bell Streamer seems a similar device as the recent introduction of Rogers Ignite SmartStream for its broadband subscribers (which we reported on here).
Available to Bell customers in Ontario and Quebec, the Bell Streamer device is included at no cost with new Alt TV Premium subscriptions on a six-month term. The device can also be purchased separately for $79.95 online or at Bell and The Source stores.
