Énergie 98.9 joins Bell Media’s Quebec network


QUEBEC CITY — Bell Media’s Énergie 98.9 radio station in Quebec City officially joined the Énergie network of 10 stations in Quebec, as of Monday.

As part of the announcement, Énergie 98.9 announced Hugo Langlois has joined Vince Cauchon, Katherine Guillemette and Simon Bourassa to host the Quebec City station’s morning show Le Boost!, which airs Monday to Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET. As with other Énergie format stations, humourist François Pérusse will be featured in his “Fréquence Pérusse” items every 20 minutes.

The afternoon show, Ça rentre au poste (It Goes Back to the Post) runs Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET. The show features Maxim Martin, Marie-Claude Savard and Sébastien Trudel.

Énergie 98.9’s Vos classiques au travail (Your Classics at Work) is hosted by Marie-Christine Champagne, and airs from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 2:55 p.m. ET. From 9 a.m., it’s at least 60 minutes of classics without interruption, followed by a powerplay starting each hour after that.

Babu will be at the microphone on weekdays for La boite à lunch (Lunch Box) from noon to 1 p.m. ET, as well as on the weekends for Les Weekends Énergie Avec Babu (Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET).

Until Friday, the station was an all-talk station during the day with music at night. According to Steve Faguy, all of the talk hosts were let go.
