VANCOUVER – Telus announced today it is extending its program of crediting health care workers for two months of free wireless service from Telus or flanker brand Koodo to front line workers in B.C. working with Vancouver Coastal Health and the Fraser Health Authority.
The company previously launched this in Ontario and Quebec and will soon do so in Alberta, says the press release.
“The incredible strength, resiliency and compassion our remarkable frontline healthcare workers have demonstrated during this public health crisis is nothing short of extraordinary,” said Darren Entwistle, president and CEO, in the company press release. “One of the many heartbreaking impacts of this pandemic is that many doctors, nurses and healthcare workers are isolating themselves to avoid risking the health of their families and their community. We want these heroes to know that our Telus team is extremely grateful for their selfless actions.
In collaboration with Vancouver Coastal Health, the company’s Mobility for Good program has been made available to frontline staff members or physicians working in active Covid-19 patient care units or staff members assigned to a key response role. At Fraser Health Authority the organization has made the program available to housekeeping, food services and environmental services staff, too.
The company said this will soon be expanded to Alberta.
