Attraction announces executive change


MONTREAL — Montreal-based media production and distribution company Attraction announced Wednesday its vice-president of English content, Judith Beauchemin (left), is stepping down from her position, effective April 30. In her place, Nicole Hamilton (right) is being promoted to vice-president of English content and she will report to Attraction’s president and CEO, Richard Speer.

Beauchemin began her career in television nearly two decades ago and is pursuing new professional opportunities outside of TV production. “Judith has been a valued member of the executive team, and we will miss her greatly,” said Speer, in the release. “Her strategic leadership and creative vision paved the way for seamless integration with CMJ Productions, and her international expertise has helped our company’s growth in English language television. It has been an honour to call her my colleague. We thank her for her terrific work, and we wish her the very best and continued success in the future.”

Earlier this year, Attraction brought CMJ under its banner and expanded its development operations in Toronto and Beauchemin was elevated to vice-president of English content, and corporate integration and efficienc.

In her new role, Hamilton will be based in Toronto. She joined CMJ in 2017 as head of development and later as head of content and business development overseeing long-form factual content across English-language brands. Before this, Hamilton served as senior director of factual at Temple Street and most recently as vice-president of development for Peace Point. She has produced many hours of programming for TV and digital and launched the YouTube channel, Oh Yum, with Anna Olson.

She began her television career producing documentaries for HBO, was also a producer on Degrassi: The Next Generation and oversaw original series at CanWest Global.
