NBCUniversal’s all-reality hayu service added to Rogers Ignite TV offering


TORONTO — Rogers Ignite TV customers can now access NBCUniversal’s hayu all-reality subscription video-on-demand service directly via the new hayu app on their Ignite TV box.

The addition of the hayu service to Rogers Ignite TV’s offering was announced Tuesday. Rogers is hayu’s first cable partner in Eastern Canada.

Until May 21, Ignite TV customers who sign up for hayu will receive the first two months free, according to the news release. Subscribers will have access to hayu’s full catalogue of more than 7,000 episodes of reality TV programming, including 250 reality series and a back catalogue of box sets. Shows available on the service include Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Real Housewives franchise, Top Chef, Love Island, and much more.

Once subscribed, to access the hayu streaming service, Rogers Ignite TV customers can simply say “hayu” into their voice remote or find it in the app section.

“With the addition of the hayu app and its leading reality TV content, we are delivering on our commitment to bring together the best content across genres, creating a seamless entertainment experience with Ignite TV,” said Eric Bruno, senior vice-president, 5G, content and connected home products, at Rogers, in the news release. “We wanted to do something special for our customers and in partnership with hayu, we are offering two months free access to its vast catalogue of reality TV programming. This is a first for hayu in Canada and we are excited to share this exclusive offer with our Ignite TV customers.”
