Crave and TIFF announce new virtual chat guests for Stay-at-Home Cinema

TORONTO — Bell Media’s Crave and the Toronto International Film Festival announced Tuesday this week’s lineup of virtual chats and screenings as part of their Stay-at-Home Cinema initiative launched at the end of March.

On Wednesday, April 8, Academy Award-nominated actor Viggo Mortensen (pictured) takes over the @CraveCanada Instagram page for a virtual Q&A with TIFF artistic director and co-head Cameron Bailey. Following the chat, audiences are invited to screen Captain Fantastic on Crave.

On Friday, April 10, Crave audiences can enjoy the multiple Academy Award-winning film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, (Best Foreign Language Film, Best Original Music Score, Best Production Design, and Best Cinematography). The Q&A guest is still to be confirmed.

Then on Sunday, April 12, Bailey will interview director and TIFF Share Her Journey ambassador Amma Asante before inviting Crave audiences to screen her film Belle.

All three Stay-at-Home Cinema experiences begin with a virtual Q&A on TIFF’s Instagram (@tiff_net), featuring the guest of honour and Bailey (7 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. ET) via Instagram Live. At 7:30 p.m. ET, audiences can view the film through Crave (app, web, on demand) and continue the conversation on Twitter (@tiff_net) during their home screening.

Additional movie titles along with special guests will be announced each week on Crave and TIFF’s respective social media channels, says the news release.
