TORONTO — Echoing a wartime motto of resiliency, British chef Jamie Oliver’s new cooking series, Jamie: Keep Cooking and Carry On, will premiere on CTV Drama Channel next week.
To help in these uncertain times of home isolation thanks to the Covid-19 crisis, Oliver will guide viewers through two weeks of meal preparation and beyond in the new series, which will air on CTV Drama weeknights at 5 p.m. starting Monday, April 6.
“Known for his practical approach to cooking, we’re thrilled to deliver a new series from superstar chef Jamie Oliver to help solve the kitchen conundrums viewers may be facing in these challenging times,” said Pat DiVittorio, vice-president of programming, CTV and Specialty, Bell Media, in the news release. “Airing daily, we’ve decided to add Jamie: Keep Cooking and Carry On to the CTV Drama schedule so we can deliver the series to as many Canadians as we can while giving viewers a week’s work of meal ideas as they continue to do their part by staying home.”
Quickly conceptualized and produced in response to Covid-19, each half-hour episode of this 10-part series will feature Oliver sharing recipes that make the most of everyday kitchen staples. With inventive ideas on how to utilize forgotten items in the pantry and freezer, Oliver offers viewers new ideas about what to cook with the simple ingredients on hand and what to swap out if something’s missing.
In the first episode, Oliver shares recipes, tips and hacks, specifically tailored for the unprecedented times we’re living in, including a vegetarian chili and pasta with three easy sauces.
Viewers can catch encore broadcasts with back-to-back episodes airing Fridays at 9 and 9:30 p.m. ET on CTV Life Channel, beginning April 10.
