MONTREAL — Oracle is expanding its cloud service offerings in Canada with the announcement today it is opening a second-generation cloud region in Montreal, adding to the previous launch of its Toronto cloud region last year. The company’s dual-region strategy enables organizations to deploy applications in multiple independent cloud regions for disaster recovery, without having sensitive data leave the country which could create issues with regulatory requirements around data sovereignty as well as operational issues associated with operating in multiple countries, explains the news release.
