MISSISSAUGA — Telecom and IT infrastructure supplier Applied Electronics Limited said Tuesday in a statement to its clients and partners it is closing some of its facilities in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, but would continue with remote business operations to support customers.
Applied Electronics says it was closing a few facilities in accordance with the Ontario government’s mandated closures of non-essential businesses.
“However, as a telecommunications and IT infrastructure/service provider, Applied Electronics is deemed as an essential service business, according to the Ontario Government’s list of essential workplaces, as we provide technical support services and products to those in remote work environments, the federal, provincial and local governments, communications, healthcare, financial, and education sectors,” reads the statement from the company’s president, Paul Stechly.
Applied says it will continue with remote business operations to support customers’ business continuity in the following ways:
- Providing reliable ongoing services and products to clients deemed as an Essential Service business.
- Prompt responses to customers’ requests and communications, as its employees are equipped and already working from home.
- Conducting audio and video conference meetings with customers and partners.
- Working with technology partners on fulfilment plans to minimize delays and disruption to customers.
- Sharing information and technology ideas that support customers’ remote operations.
“As circumstances around Covid-19 remain fluid, we will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to our employees, clients and business partners,” Stechly writes. “We are committed to supporting the continuity of your business in this challenging and dynamic time.”
