OTTAWA — The Canadian Media Producers Association is asking its members to answer a new survey to help CMPA to measure the impact of Covid-19 on the Canadian film and TV production sector.
“Covid-19 has created unprecedented upheaval for the Canadian film and television industry, and is causing significant and ongoing financial disruptions for our sector,” reads the release.
CMPA has worked with Nordicity’s research group to create the Canadian Film and Television COVID-19 Survey. The results of the survey will help the industry to quantify the scope of the financial impact of the crisis on production companies, which CMPA says it will share with government officials to assist them as they develop Covid-19 response packages.
According to the release, the survey has been developed to capture the Covid-19 corporate impact at an organizational level. Only one survey should be completed per production company, by someone with a good sense of the overall financial and operational picture at the organization, says the release.
CMPA says a number of industry organizations and associations from across the country are also sharing the survey, and respondents are reminded that only one survey needs to be completed per production company.
CMPA is asking survey respondents to complete and submit the survey by March 31, 2020.
In addition, Nordicity has developed a separate Interactive Digital Media Survey. Companies who develop interactive digital media are asked to also fill out this survey, by March 31, 2020.
