Quebecor’s QUB radio offers educational podcasts for students at home due to Covid-19

MONTREAL — Quebecor’s digital radio platform, QUB radio, has partnered with Alloprof, a Quebec charity that provides online homework help, to create an educational podcast to help families with children at home during school closures due to Covid-19.

En 5 minutes (In 5 Minutes) is a daily French-language podcast that now includes an educational capsule from Alloprof on a range of topics, including science, history, geography, biology, and more. To date, QUB radio and Alloprof have produced eight En 5 minutes podcasts to provide short reviews of school subjects. The podcasts can be found on QUB radio’s website here.

En 5 minutes offers to keep the brain alert during the weeks when schools and public places are closed,” said Charles Trahan, director and producer of the podcasts, in the news release, translated into English. “We have joined forces, we have selected several excellent popularization videos from Alloprof that we have remixed to make them enjoyable in podcast listening, there is content for all tastes, which appeals to a wide audience, not just students is our small contribution during this difficult period.”

To follow the Covid-19 pandemic’s evolution in real time, QUB radio has also brought together all related content in the Covid-19 podcast. In addition, the En 5 minutes section in Le Journal de Montréal and Le Journal de Québec offers enlightening infographics on the situation, the news release says.
