EDMONTON — Principal photography will wrap Wednesday on the new Super Channel Fuse Original horror feature Anything for Jackson, currently filming in Barrie, Ont., with an anticipated fall 2020 premiere.
Produced by Vortex Words & Pictures, Anything for Jackson is directed by Justin G. Dyck, who has directed more than 25 films and dozens of series episodes. In 2004 Dyck earned a BFA from Ryerson University before officially starting his career in film and television production. Since then he has worked as a director, cinematographer, editor and producer.
After losing their only grandson, Jackson, in a car accident, grief-stricken Audrey (Sheila McCarthy) and Henry (Julian Richings), a doctor, kidnap his pregnant patient with the intentions of performing a “reverse Exorcism”, putting Jackson inside her unborn child. It doesn’t take long to figure out Jackson isn’t the only ghost the grandparents invited into their home, says the press release.
In addition to starring Sheila McCarthy (Die Hard 2, The Umbrella Academy) and Julian Richings (Orphan Black, Supernatural), the film stars Konstantina Mantelos (A Christmas Crush), Josh Cruddas (Polar) and Yannick Bisson (Murdoch Mysteries, Another Wolfcop). Anything for Jackson is produced by Bill Marks (Don’t Click, Wolfcop), Christopher Giroux (I’ll Take Your Dead, Don’t Click), Keith Cooper (writer, A Very Country Christmas) and Justin G. Dyck (Fast and Furriest). Executive producers for the film are Jesse Ikeman (A Perfect Plan, Survival of the Dead), Justin Rebelo (United We Fan, Room For Rent) and Audrey Cummings (She Never Died, Berkshire County).
“We are excited to be working with Vortex films and the team at A71 to bring this unique film to fans of the horror genre on Super Channel Fuse. It has all the elements that are sure to make it a fan-favourite with this audience,” said Jackie Pardy, chief content officer at Super Channel, in the news release.
A71 Releasing controls the rest of the world rights on the movie.
