EDMONTON — The second season of the Starz Original deity-driven series American Gods (8×60) will premiere April 14 at 9 p.m. on Super Channel Fuse. Each episode will also be available on Super Channel On Demand the day following its weekly linear broadcast.
Starring Ricky Whittle (The 100, Nappily Ever After) as Shadow Moon and Ian McShane (Deadwood, John Wick) as Mr. Wednesday, American Gods is adapted from Neil Gaiman’s award-winning novel of the same name about a war brewing between Old Gods and New Gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs, says the Super Channel news release.
In season two, the battle moves inexorably toward crisis point as the destinies of gods and men collide.
Season two of American Gods was filmed in Toronto and is produced by Fremantle. Jesse Alexander, Neil Gaiman, Craig Cegielski, Scott Hornbacher, Ian McShane, Stefanie Berk, Christopher J. Bryne and Padraic McKinley serve as executive producers.
