CALGARY — Following up last week’s launch of its Mobile Health Clinic program in Ottawa and Waterloo Region in Ontario, Telus announced Tuesday it is expanding its Health for Good program in Calgary with the launch of The Alex Community Health Bus, powered by Telus Health.
Telus is partnering with The Alex healthcare hub to bring its Mobile Health Clinic to Calgary’s most vulnerable citizens, including at-risk youth and individuals living with complex needs. The Mobile Clinic is a specially equipped clinic on wheels that will provide primary medical and mental health care, including electronic medical records, directly to local citizens in need, wherever they are, says the Telus news release.
Already active in Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria, Ottawa and Waterloo Region, the Mobile Health Clinics are equipped with Telus Health’s electronic medical record technology and Telus LTE Wi-Fi network technology. Skilled practitioners are able to collect and store data, examine results over time, and provide better continuity of care to patients who previously had undocumented medical histories.
The new state-of-the-art The Alex Community Health Bus is the second in The Alex’s fleet equipped with Telus Health technology and will replace the original Community Health Bus, which has been in service in Calgary since 2001.
