Dear Cartt.ca readers,
Later today, Cartt.ca will launch its brand new site. By tomorrow morning, you will find a new look which will be cleaner and easier to read, with better use of photos, far faster search, but with the same great content you have come to know and respect.
It’s more than a cosmetic overhaul, too. It’s an all-new platform, with a new host and improved security. As some of you who know me are already aware, this has been a lot of work for our team, and not a simple switch as we have over 30,000 stories in our database to switch from the old site to the new – making sure their photos and links and bylines also make the trip cleanly.
As a subscription site, you all have your own login details and while every effort has been made to make sure you don’t have to re-input your user name and password, we know there will be hiccups. If you do find yourself locked out, please click on the bright orange “Login” button you will see on the new site and follow the instructions to have a password sent to you.
If you continue to have trouble logging into the new site, please contact us directly at subscriptions@cartt.ca and we will fix your login issues for you.
We are doing this rollout in steps and since everything you’ll see and everything behind the scenes is new, we won’t be sending out our usual email newsletters this week. We want to make sure the live site is every bit as good as what we’ve been testing offline and we will resume sending newsletters when we return from our annual holiday break, on January 6, 2020, headlined by our coverage from the Consumer Electronics Show.
That said, we will still be posting stories as they happen between now and then. In fact, we will have a bunch of stuff posted to the new site tomorrow morning.
If you see anything wrong with the our overhaul, or anything right, or just want to chat or give us advice on what else Cartt.ca should be doing, please email me directly at greg.obrien@cartt.ca. We love hearing from you.
We at Cartt.ca would like to thank all of our loyal readers for their continued support and since this is our last email of the year, we hope you all enjoy a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah or that you enjoy whatever celebration you and yours hold dear at this time of year.
And of course, all the best in 2020!
Sincerely,
Greg O’Brien
