Anthem’s Game+ Network launches on Videotron; GameTV now available in HD

TORONTO — Videotron subscribers can now access Anthem Sports & Entertainment’s Game+ network, which is available during a free preview period until February 3, 2020. Anthem has also extended its carriage deal with Videotron for its GameTV channel, which will now become available in high-definition.

Starting today, Game+ is available as an HD feed on Videotron’s illico and Helix platforms. GameTV is available as an SD channel on illico and as an HD channel on the Helix platform. (Ed. note: Launched in August, Helix is Videotron’s new IPTV service that runs on Comcast’s X1 platform.) Like Game+, GameTV is also available to Videotron subscribers for a free preview until February 3.

When Videotron customers order either Game+ or GameTV, they will get both networks at no additional charge, according to a news release. In addition to availability on Videotron’s cable systems, subscribers can also access Game+ and GameTV content on smartphones, tablets and computers.

“We are excited to announce the launch of the rapidly growing Game+ network on Videotron systems across Quebec,” said Anthony Cicione, president of GameTV, in the news release. “Videotron subscribers will have access to the best of both channels, featuring a robust line-up of blockbuster feature films, game shows, live sports, fantasy sports, Esports and much more.”

Game+ is the home for fantasy sports gaming news and information, and also features wagering information programming, Esports, high stakes poker, live action sports, wrestling and other action-adventure driven shows and lifestyle programming.

Meanwhile, GameTV specializes in game-related programming, such as game shows, competition-based shows, reality series, movies and sports.
