TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund and Telefilm have announced what they are calling the Analog conference series.
Analog will unfold in three phases and in three Canadian cities: Montreal (November 28), Vancouver (December 3) and Toronto (December 6). Featuring leaders of Canada’s cultural, creative and technological scenes, the three free events will focus on the theme of creativity and artificial intelligence.
Analog will feature David Usher, creator of the interactive work We Could Be Human: A Learning Machine which the audience will have the opportunity to try on site. Usher, a musician and founder of Montreal’s Reimagine AI, will also chat with the CMF’s Catherine Mathys. The event will also include a panel featuring artificial intelligence specialists from different backgrounds.
“Our goal is to create a moment of truce, a sort of creative bubble that will inspire the screen-based industry to push back the frontiers of what is possible. More than ever before, I think that it’s by getting together and inspiring ourselves from what others know that we will be able to give meaning to the digital transformations,” said Mathys, who is the CMF’s director of industry and market trends.
The list of panellists, discussion topics and further schedule will be announced soon.
