TORONTO — The Podcast Exchange (TPX), a leading Canadian podcast marketing and sales enterprise, has announced a new sales partnership with Stitcher’s advertising arm, Midroll Media.

The Stitcher app, available for iOS and Android devices, is one of the world’s most popular podcast listening platforms, with a growing network of original content and a premium subscription service. Stitcher is the parent company of Midroll Media, the leading podcast advertising network representing more than 200 of the world’s largest podcasts, and top-ranked comedy podcast network Earwolf. Stitcher was founded in 2007 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The E.W. Scripps Company.

“Since launching the company in January 2018, TPX has attracted leading international and domestic publishers that have premium podcasts. We have a deep understanding of the podcast marketplace in Canada,” said Jean-Marie Heimrath, president and CEO of TPX, in a statement emailed Monday to Cartt.ca. “With this new partnership, our sales team can apply our expertise in podcast sponsor messaging to an expanded network of popular podcasts.”

Stitcher currently operates offices in Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco.

“Stitcher’s partnership with TPX is an exciting step into the Canadian marketplace,” said Stitcher’s chief revenue officer, Sarah van Mosel. “Canada is a key market for Stitcher; it has a rich audio heritage and a passionate podcast fanbase who are already listening to many of the shows on Stitcher’s roster. TPX brings the expertise to connect those listeners with brands and advertisers in the region.”

As a leading podcast marketing and sales company, TPX provides monetization services, content development and production, and strategic consulting to international and domestic publishers, advertisers, broadcasters, and brands.
