TORONTO – With season seven having just wrapped onTuesday (with its largest audience in four years as married Edmonton couple Anthony and James, pictured, took home the loot), CTV has already confirmed season eight in 2020 for the popular reality show, The Amazing Race Canada.

An average audience of more than 1.9 million viewers tuned in weekly this summer to the show, “making it not only the most-watched series of the summer but also the top Canadian series of the 2018/19 broadcast year,” says the CTV press release.

Casting details for season eight will be announced soon, and host, Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery, will of course remain.

With final data of the complete season to be reported in the coming weeks, season-to-date The Amazing Race Canada saw double-digit growth with A18-34 (+38%) and A18-49 (+12%), says the press release, citing numbers from Numeris.

Season seven can still be streamed on CTV.ca and the CTV app, and will join Crave, along with previous seasons of the series, on Friday, September 13.

The Amazing Race Canada is produced by Insight Productions where Mark Lysakowski is executive producer and showrunner.
