TORONTO – Industry supplier MDL Communications and Detroit-based anyVID Solutions have created two new advanced technology video systems for Canadian TV operators.
AnyVOD is an all-in-one VOD system that enables the delivery of VOD to subscribers via existing, repurposed DCT/DCX set-tops, and at a cost far lower than current RF type VOD system vendors, says the MDL press release.
“The system also allows those operators to save a fortune by not needing to buy other new set-tops for this purpose. The system automatically familiarizes subscribers with 2020-styled VOD graphics and guides, and thus eases their future adoption of streaming TV, through the morphing of this system to our anyVID (Live TV Streaming) system,” reads the release.
As well, the company’s latest anyVID System lets operators launch latest generation live TV, nDVR, and VOD streaming services to their subscribers’ own devices.
“AnyVOD enables operators to offer exciting, next gen, VOD services with a nominal investment. As a result, we’re extending the life of installed legacy RF set-tops. This represents a highly significant capex benefit,” said MDL’s Stephen Sacks, in the release.
