VANCOUVER – Here’s one move that helps puts Telus onside with the CRTC’s Internet Code of conduct – for customers who renew or sign up for one or two year contracts at least.

The company today announced customers can now enjoy unlimited home internet data, no matter to which home broadband speed package they subscribe.

Last week, the CRTC told large broadband providers they had to warn customers when they were coming to the limit of their monthly data plans to avoid pesky data bill shocks, but this move mitigates that risk and that regulatory demand as new and renewing Telus customers will be able to stream and game to their hearts’ content, with no data limitations.

“As data-heavy applications like smart home security solutions and in-home healthcare technologies become more commonplace, unlimited data also provides Telus customers with peace of mind that these services can operate at their full potential without worrying about data overages,” said Zainul Mawji, president, home and small business solutions, in the company press release.

Unlimited home internet data is available today to new and renewing customers on a two-year term, across all internet speed tiers, in B.C. and Alberta, explains the company’s release.
