EDMONTON – Super Channel today announced When Hope Calls, a spinoff of the popular Hallmark Channel series When Calls the Heart, is coming to Super Channel Heart & Home this August.
“Our loyal When Calls the Heart viewers have been eagerly asking where they can see When Hope Calls in Canada and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to them on Super Channel Heart & Home,” said Don McDonald, president and CEO, in the press release. Hearties (what fans of the show call themselves) “will be sure to embrace this heartfelt series with its themes of community, family and faith and we are confident it will become a favourite with our Heart & Home viewers.”
The series is currently in production just outside of North Bay Ontario. “We are so excited to be filming this series in Northern Ontario,” said producer David Anselmo, in the release. “The beautiful landscape lends itself perfectly to the wonderful world we have created.”
The show follows Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and Grace (Jocelyn Hudon), sisters who were orphaned and raised very differently, as they reunite as adults and open an orphanage in a small Northwest town in the early 1900s. The town and its people are on the cusp of change, transitioning from the simple times of the horse and buggy to the more modern times of cars and technology.
