
MONTREAL – Groupe V Média is turning its MusiquePlus service into a new channel known as Elle Fictions aimed at “active women aged 25 to 54”.
The broadcaster said Tuesday that it is partnering with Lagardère, the French group behind the Elle brand, on the new service which is scheduled to debut on August 26.
Content will include series such as Dawson's Creek, Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls, the new generation of Dynasty, Road to Avonlea, Shonda Rhimes’ For the People, and telenovela Pasion Prohibida, courtesy of new distribution agreements with the likes of CBS Studios International, Disney-ABC Television Group, Warner Bros., Universal Studios and Sony Pictures, as well as an exclusive output agreement with Crown Media – Hallmark.
“With ELLE Fictions, we are not only taking the innovative step of introducing an iconic brand into the Quebec television landscape but we are also initiating a new way of connecting with the brand by expanding it to a new medium and creating a tailor-made extension for Groupe V Média", said Dimitri Gourdin, EVP, head of group strategy for Groupe V Média, in the news release. “With its tremendous reputation and the outstanding values it embodies, ELLE Fictions will attract the attention of both subscribers and advertisers and accelerate the development of our new channel by crystallising our target audience."
