MISSISSAUGA and CALGARY — Early bird registration is now available for both the Canadian CommTech East and CommTech West shows, scheduled to take place this spring in Mississauga, Ont., and Calgary, respectively.
CommTech East will take place April 16–17 at the Mississauga Convention Centre in Mississauga, Ont. The CommTech Awards Gala will return to CommTech East for its second year, and is scheduled for April 15. CommTech West will take place May 28–30 at the Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre in Calgary.
Early bird registration pricing is $225 for both days of the conference sessions (regular online $265, at the show $275) and includes full access, lunches, beverage breaks, and a welcome reception. This year’s shows promise more than 20 technical sessions, a sustainable smart cities panel, workshops, and more than 80 exhibiting companies as part of the trade show.
Early bird savings for CommTech East and CommTech West are both available until February 28.
Also announced was CommTech East keynote speaker James Myles, director of service assurance, GTA East, for Rogers Communications. With more than 26 years of industry expertise, Myles is responsible for Rogers Communications’ HFC plant maintenance and in-home service and installation. Since joining Rogers as a staff technologist in 1996, Myles’ experience encompasses all aspects of network performance, maintenance and operations, including quality assurance, inside and outside plant management, head end operations, and field installations, service and maintenance.
Active as a member of both the OACETT and the SCTE since 1997, Myles was first elected to the SCTE Ontario Chapter board of directors in 2007, has served a term as Ontario Chapter president and held numerous board positions. An award-winning certified engineering technologist, Myles is a graduate of Mohawk College.
