TORONTO – marblemedia has rolled out its rebranded YouTube channel marblekids that will include its first original digital series Smashalot!

The marblekids channel, which streams content for kids 6-12 from Canadian and international producers, was granted CAVCO certification making it one of only seven YouTube channels certified by CAVCO in Canada and the only channel dedicated exclusively to kids and family content, reads the news release. The new CAVCO certification will allow the media company to trigger tax credits and private funds for original Canadian productions.

"With a changing media landscape, we’re always looking for new opportunities to bring great content to kid audiences and marblekids has quietly been building a strong subscriber base over the past couple of years," said Co-CEO Mark Bishop, in the release.  “The CAVCO certification allows us opportunities to work in completely new ways with international partners, co-producers and investors, to incubate new ideas, and do things that may not fit on traditional broadcast. Our new digital series Smashalot! is a great example of that. We’re looking forward to connecting with Canadian audiences in a whole new way, with new premium, kids and family-friendly content.”

Smashalot! is 12 episodes of castle-crashing mayhem that complements the company’s iconic Splatalot! franchise.  The new digital series pairs prominent YouTubers and past Splatalot! contestants with heavy machinery and the opportunity to completely obliterate the legendary castle featured in the original TV show.
