REGINA – Access Communications continued to grow last year and now serves over 235 communities and 160,000 square km of rural areas across Saskatchewan, the Co-operative announced at its annual general meeting last month.
The company also invested more than $22.4 million into its Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) network and services in its communities in 2018 as part of a five year $120 million investment plan.
In addition to marking its 40th anniversary, Access also elected four directors to its board, as well as a new board chair – click here for more details.
In other company news, Access has signed a named rights agreement with the city of Yorkton for the water park at the Gallagher Centre. The park will now be known as the Access Communications Water Park and feature free public Wi-Fi from Access throughout the facility.
“Our technology is helping families laugh, students learn, businesses grow, and connecting Saskatchewan people with each other and around the world,” said CEO Jim Deane, in the news release. “We are proud to help the communities that we serve. With the Gallagher Centre being a Yorkton community hub, our partnership is a great fit.”
