TORONTO – TVO will be the Canadian home for Spin Master’s new original animated preschool series Abby Hatcher.
The series, which debuted January 1st on Nickelodeon in the U.S., features Abby Hatcher, an adventurous seven-year-old with a giant heart and endless love for her favorite creatures, the Fuzzlies. These furry, zany creatures come in all shapes and sizes, each with their own uniquely special abilities, and Abby adores them all. In the Hatcher Palace Hotel, where Abby lives with her parents, there's lots for the Fuzzlies to discover as they become part of her expanding family, but that can also mean often getting into Fuzzly Trouble. Each episode follows Abby as she goes on incredible adventures with her best Fuzzly-friend Bozzly to fix mishaps that land the Fuzzlies in trouble, and ultimately save the day.
The series stars an all-Canadian cast, including Macy Drouin as Abby, Wyatt White who portrays Abby's Fuzzly best friend and partner Bozzly, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim's Convenience) as Chef Jeff.
Animated at Toronto's Guru Studio, Abby Hatcher is the eighth series from Spin Master Entertainment and comes from the same team of producers and directors that made internationally hit series PAW Patrol.
"Abby Hatcher embodies remarkable storytelling combined with an emotional and social curriculum to entertain and delight preschoolers," said Spin Master's co-founder, chairman and co-CEO Ronnen Harary, in the news release. "It was a magical experience to watch the characters we created come to life with powerful performances by Canadian children. Now, with the premiere of Abby Hatcher, we can share these enchanting and heartfelt stories with kids all over the world."
TVO will air Abby Hatcher beginning February 11, and the series will roll out on Nickelodeon's international channels following its U.S. premiere.
