SiriusXM launches holiday music channels Thursday – just ask Alexa

TORONTO – Canadian listeners may now ask Alexa to dial up their favourite SiriusXM channel.

The audio entertainment company said that all of its 200+ channels are now available to SiriusXM Canada subscribers nationwide with Amazon Alexa, including news from national outlets, exclusive talk and entertainment, comedy, and sports plus artist-branded music channels such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Garth Brooks, Tom Petty, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, and Pitbull.

SiriusXM content available on Amazon Alexa will mirror what is available to that subscriber streaming on the SiriusXM app, based on their subscription.  

In other news, SiriusXM Canada will kick off the festive season beginning November 1st with the launch of seven of its 15 commercial free holiday music channels.  This year’s lineup promises listeners a variety of traditional holiday songs, classic Christmas carols, country Christmas classics, contemporary holiday tunes, soul music, Hanukkah music and Latin seasonal music. 

New this year is an exclusive Mannheim Steamroller channel, featuring music by Manheim Steamroller known for their blend of symphonic music with elements of new age and rock and modern recordings of Christmas music.  That channel will go live on December 17.

Subscribers may listen online, on-the-go with the SiriusXM mobile app and at home on a variety of connected devices including smart TVs, Amazon Alexa devices, Apple TV, PlayStation, Roku, and Sonos speakers.
