TORONTO – Primus said Wednesday that it is launching a new cloud communications platform that delivers enterprise-class collaboration for businesses of all sizes, known as Primus UC.

Primus UC enables mobile, cloud-based unified communications in a single application that is compatible with both Windows and Mac, and is available on mobile devices operating on both Android and iOS platforms, reads the news release.

Primus UC features integrated phone and messaging services, presence, audio and video conferencing, screen and file sharing, virtual meeting rooms, and allows employees and their guests to work from desktops, tablets and smartphones. It also connects employees and external guests via a single, always-on, virtual collaboration space, enabling users to start an audio or video conference with a single click, eliminating the need for an audio or video conference bridge.

The Primus unified communications platform delivers quick deployment and feature enhancement for Primus customers, and integrates with the company's existing Hosted PBX service. The easy-to-use, intuitive interface works with both desktop and mobile applications, providing business owners with the freedom to choose their preferred device, as well as the features that are most useful for their operations.

"Primus UC frees businesses from the constraints of physical locations and is an important part of our commitment to serve Canada's growing business market," said Chief Revenue Officer Dan Foster, in the release.  "Canada's mobile workforce is growing, and we are seeing increased demand from our customers for innovative technologies that enable their employees to work where and how they want."
