TORONTO — Sports fans in Toronto will have a new place to gather and grab a meal as Sportsnet announces its new restaurant, Sportsnet Grill, overlooking the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto, will open on Wednesday.

Located at 1 Blue Jays Way inside the Marriott City Centre Hotel, Sportsnet Grill is a 220-seat, sports-themed restaurant that overlooks the Rogers Centre playing field, making it a prime destination for sports fans looking for a night out in a unique setting, Sportsnet said in a news release announcing the restaurant’s grand opening.

“In partnership with the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, we’ve created a fun, casual and contemporary space that serves as a perfect downtown destination for sports fans to meet and enjoy watching games all year round,” said Scott Moore, president of Sportsnet & NHL Properties, in the news release.

“It’s a priority for us to continue finding innovative and exciting ways to engage our audiences with the Sportsnet brand by providing not only the content they want, but also experiences in watching that content that they can’t get anywhere else,” Moore said.

The Sportsnet Grill venue will also serve as a space to showcase Sportsnet’s live programming and events. As part of the restaurant’s grand opening Wednesday, Sportsnet 590 The Fan will be broadcasting Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown and co-host Richard Deitsch live on location from 4-7 p.m. ET.

Other opening day festivities will include a pop-up United By Sport event in the parkette adjacent to the Sportsnet Grill entrance. Beginning at 1 p.m. ET, sports fans will be able to sample food and beverages, and have their photo taken in an augmented reality pod for a chance to win tickets, discount cards and other prizes. Sportsnet 590 The Fan’s Good Show with Ben Ennis and JD Bunkis will be airing live from the parkette from 1-4 p.m. ET.

Sportsnet Grill will be open seven days a week. On game days, reservations for window seating will be available. For more information about the restaurant’s hours and menus, click here.
