MONTREAL – Former NDP Leader Tom Mulcair is joining the media ranks as a political analyst on iHeartRadio Canada’s CJAD 800 in Montreal beginning August 28, 2018.
Tuesday’s news release says that Mulcair will offer his opinion on Canadian federal politics and Quebec provincial politics twice daily on CJAD 800 at 7:35 AM ET on The Andrew Carter Morning Show and at 5:05 PM ET on The Aaron Rand Show. Beginning this fall, he will also make regular appearances on CTV News Channel’s daily political program Power Play as well as twice weekly appearances on CTV News Channel.
Mulcair is a former provincial cabinet minister and the former leader of the New Democratic Party, where he served as leader of the Official Opposition in the House of Commons. From 1994 to 2007, he was the Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Chomedey, and also served as Quebec Minister of the Environment from 2003 to 2006.
“I am thrilled to be joining the top-flight news team at CJAD 800”, Mulcair said in the release. “With a provincial election on the horizon, we’ll have a lot to talk about starting this summer. Politics is our second favourite sport in Québec and CJAD 800 and CTV News have always fielded a winning team. I look forward to sharing my own views and learning the priorities of listeners and viewers.”
