TORONTO – Independent telecom and TV service provider Vmedia rolled out new TV programming packages this week which it said will help keep the Canadian broadcasting industry relevant to consumers.

Premium Flex, billed as an improvement to the company's Premium Basic TV package, is priced at $49.95/month and comes in four versions: Classic, Sports, Family and Lifestyle – allowing consumers to select among four themes.  All of the channels include the first two months free.

Grand Premium, priced at $67.95/month, includes over 100 channels, including the 80 most watched English-language specialty channels, according to VMedia.

“Our Grand Premium package has virtually all the channels Canadians enjoy,” said CEO Alexei Tchernobrivets, in the news release.  “The large competitors boast about hundreds of channels in their TV packages, but in fact that includes the double counting of SD and HD versions, non-video channels with radio and other music feeds, and multiple versions of the same networks, like CTV Montreal and CTV Toronto, and of course mood-enhancing channels featuring roasting chickens. We only count the channels you actually watch.”

Subscribers may watch VMedia TV with its VBox (a TV set top box and media player combined), a Roku device or Roku-powered TV.
