It’s now the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance
QUISPAMSIS, N.B. – The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance today made official the association’s rebrand to the ‘Canadian Communication Systems Alliance’, replacing the word ‘Cable’ in its company name.
The comprehensive rebrand for the organization, which includes a new logo, new email domain and upcoming new website, “reflects the association’s forward focus as it both celebrates its 25th Anniversary and collectively embraces the future of the Canadian communications industry,” reads the company’s press release.
The CCSA represents more than 115 independent companies which provide broadband, television and telephone services to Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Its membership includes small, family-owned companies, companies serving and operated by Indigenous Peoples in Canada and more than 20 community cooperatives.
It’s focused on advocacy with all levels of government, contract management and billing services, and savings through bulk buying of programming and other services for its membership.
“To remain competitive in today’s communications industry, Canada’s independent communications operators need to be efficient, informed, flexible and proactive. We make that happen for our members by keeping content and technology costs low, educating them about changes in the industry, and ensuring government and regulatory stakeholders receive the right messages at the right time,” adds the press release.
“As announced at our September 2017 conference, the decision to update our name is driven by our increasingly diverse membership and the technologies they use,” said Jay Thomson, CEO of the CCSA. “As the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance, we built a strong foundation over our first 25 years of more than 100 independent providers of internet, television and telephone services across the country. Our new name, Canadian Communication Systems Alliance, speaks to the breadth of members we now represent and the communities all across the country that they serve.”
