VANCOUVER – Telus is offering its Internet customers a new system that extends the reach of their in-home Wi-Fi signals to ensure that every corner of their home receives a strong and reliable Internet connection.

Telus Boost Wi-Fi uses a network of “boosters”, up to five per household, to efficiently relay the Wi-Fi signal and create additional hotspots wherever a stronger signal is needed.  The system is outfitted with Smart Wi-Fi technology that optimizes device performance as a user moves from room-to-room, ensuring each device is connected to the optimal booster relative to its location.

The system may be set up with step-by-step instructions via the Telus My Wi-Fi app. The app also allows for easy monitoring and management of the home Wi-Fi network, including the option to pause Wi-Fi if a digital break is needed.

The Telus Boost Wi-Fi Starter Pack, which includes two boosters, is available now for customers in B.C. and Alberta for a limited time for $120 (a $240 value, says the company).  Expansion Packs are also available for $120 each.

“We are constantly driven to improve our customers’ online experience and Telus Boost Wi-Fi helps to address one of the most common issues with home Wi-Fi,” said consumer products and content VP Blair Miller, in the news release. “Telus Boost Wi-Fi helps to ensure streaming video and music aren’t interrupted, video calls aren’t dropped and everyone can stay connected, no matter where they are in the home.”
