TORONTO – Canadians with a mobile-related business idea have a chance to win $10,000 toward their venture plus a meeting with business magnate and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson.

Virgin Mobile Canada kicked off the first-ever Canadian edition of the global 'Pitch to Rich' contest Wednesday.  From now through April 23, Canadians may submit a short elevator pitch for their mobile-related business idea.   Finalists will be asked to submit a video via a private link about why they should win and why they would like to meet Branson, who will be part of the team who will review the submissions and hand-pick the grand prize winner.

Branson and Virgin Mobile Canada are seeking submissions that are original mobile-related business ideas that are easy to understand, have a demonstrated consumer need, can easily be brought to market, and that make people's lives better.

"The 'Pitch to Rich' contest is our way of encouraging Canadian youth to dream big and share their ideas about all-new possibilities for mobile communications," said Virgin Mobile Canada's director of brand and communications Jennifer Posnikoff, in the news release.  "Consumers and businesses alike demand mobile innovation, and we can't wait to hear what Canada's next generation of entrepreneurs has in store for us."

The 'Pitch to Rich' contest closes on April 24 with the grand prize victor to be chosen on May 1.
