
TORONTO – The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) has added to its Board of Directors after issuing a call for new members last month.
Effective immediately, the five new members are:
– Isme Bennie: former executive with CTV Specialty Services, CHUM, TV Ontario and Televentures;
– Owen Brierley: executive director of Edmonton Digital Arts College, former executive director of Guru Digital Arts College, and a managing partner of Gystworks; experienced in developing multimedia and online learning resources;
– Paul Cross: program coordinator of the Radio Broadcasting Graduate Certificate program at Humber College;
– Shawn Praskey: vice-president, head of content sales for Disney/ABC Home Entertainment and Television Group, and former content distribution VP at Corus Entertainment;
– Adam Walker: Manager, Network Intelligence – Cable at Rogers Communications.
Continuing on the CCF Board, in addition to president Dr. Evelyn Ellerman, are Darren Harkness, Asma Sayed, Tyler Nagel and Jon Keeble. Pip Wedge is executive director, and Peter O’Neill is secretary/treasurer.
The CFF was created by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters to chronicle and document, in sight and sound, the history of Canadian broadcasting through the establishment of an electronic data base that is available to universities, colleges, schools, libraries, news media and communication centres across Canada and elsewhere.
