LOS ANGELES – Farewell Spike, hello Paramount Network.

The newly rebranded U.S. cable channel, still owned by Viacom, debuted Thursday with some familiar programming, including Lip Sync Battle, Ink Master and Bar Rescue.  New series include Waco, Heathers, American Woman, and Yellowstone.

According to the company’s release, Paramount Network is a general entertainment destination focused on delivering bold, original, premium-quality scripted, non-scripted network series, specials and events.  “Inspired by over a century of cinematic storytelling, the Paramount Network is where today’s brightest stars bring big screen storytelling expertise to every screen with stories that are immersive, inclusive, and deeply personal”, the release continues.

The channel has been known by a few different names over the years, including The Nashville Network, then The National Network, and male-focussed Spike TV.
