LAS VEGAS – At CES, TV manufacturer Hisense has announced it will be launching an exclusive version of the Fox Sports Go app that will allow owners of new Hisense TVs to stream 2018 World Cup Games in 4K and HDR, with access to as many as 37 camera angles and near-real-time highlights. Unfortunately for Canadian soccer fans the live streaming option within the app is available only in U.S.
Last April Hisense, the world’s third largest TV manufacturer, became an official sponsor of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, making it the first-ever Chinese CE brand to support the soccer tournament series
The Hisense World Cup app will only be available in select regions across the world. In the U.S., it will be the FOX Sports GO: 2018 FIFA World Cup Edition app, which will be available exclusively preloaded on new Hisense Smart TV products. The application will feature multiple FOX Sports digital feeds, including the ability to choose from a variety of live viewing angles during games, such as feeds that focus on specific teams or aerial views.
Perhaps Hisense will ink a deal with Bell Media, which owns the World Cup TV rights in Canada. We’ll ask.
