Global News, CTV News, Rogers Radio take Edward R. Murrow trophies

NEW YORK – Corus Entertainment’s Global News last night took home the Edward R. Murrow Excellence in Innovation award in the network news division at last night’s Radio Television Digital News Association gala awards Monday night in New York City.

Global won the honour, the association’s inaugural innovation award, for its industry-leading multi-market content (MMC) story-centric workflow system, which Cartt.ca profiled here last year.

Continuing with Canadians, Bell Media’s CTV News took home the network news division award for Excellence in Sound for its feature entitled Favela Violins. Click here for that video.

On the large market radio side, Rogers Media’s 660 News Calgary won the Continuing Coverage award for The Beast – its coverage of last year’s Fort McMurray wildfires. Click here to listen to that entry.
