Dean Prevost hired as Rogers Enterprise president
FRANKFURT and TORONTO – After a little over two years with Rogers Communications, the company’s consumer division president Dirk Woessner has informed the company he is going home.
Woessner (pictured) will take over as Deutsche Telekom’s president in its home market of Germany. Woessner was hired away from the company to join Rogers by former CEO Guy Laurence. The German company made the announcement yesterday after a board meeting where it announced current German division president Niek Jan van Damme would be quitting at the end of 2017.
DT’s German business is a big operation and pulled in about US$25 billion in revenue last year.
The company will now begin a search for his replacement. “This is a great opportunity for Dirk to return home to Germany and take on an expanded role. He has made tremendous contributions to Rogers and built a strong consumer team who know what they need to do to deliver results,” said the company in a statement.
Rogers also announced this week it has hired Dean Prevost as president of its enterprise division. Prevost has a long history in the enterprise space, having worked for years at Allstream, then MTS Allstream, rising through the ranks to president of MTS Allstream. He left the company in 2014 and has been CEO of Calgary’s Hi-Pro Feeds.
Prevost will replace interim enterprise chief Terry Canning, who replaced Nitin Kawale, who left the company early this year.
“Dean is a great addition to our leadership team and a highly experienced telecom executive with a proven track record of delivering results in enterprise,” added the Rogers statement.
There is also another important opening in the Rogers C-suite which has yet to be filled. Chief technology officer Bob Berner is retiring in September and no replacement has yet been announced.
