MONTREAL – Canadian video supplier Aldea Solutions said Thursday that it successfully transmitted the live feeds of the recent 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia to Chilean TV broadcaster MEGA.
The 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup was held between June 17 and July 3, 2017 in Russia. Coverage of the event was managed by Aldea’s technical team on site in Saint Petersburg, Russia, supported by an operations team monitoring the event from its network management centre in Montreal.
Aldea said that it was selected by MEGA due its recent successes with multiple editions of international football tournaments, including the 2016 Copa America held in the United States, and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
“We are truly privileged to have served MEGA for the very first time as a customer for such an important live sporting event”, said CEO Lionel Bentolila, in the news release. “Aldea’s long history with transmission of live video, engineering competence along with its success with delivering important international sports events to other customers for over 15 years, were all key factors in being selected by MEGA”.
Aldea provides end-to-end worldwide transmission and content distribution services and operates an extensive fibre-based network with points-of-service in major cities throughout the Americas and international extensions in Europe.
