
OTTAWA – Global News is readying a live broadcast of Saturday’s Canada Day celebrations from Parliament Hill.
Hosted by Ottawa bureau chief and The West Block host Vassy Kapelos, the 25-camera broadcast will air across Global Television and Corus Radio stations from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM ET on July 1 plus showcase festivities at other venues across Canada and the Canada Day party in London England’s Trafalgar Square.
The broadcast will include remarks from His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Duke of Wales, Governor General David Johnston, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other dignitaries, as well as include a special performance by U2's Bono and The Edge, Canada’s CF-18’s and the Canadian Snowbirds.
The Global News Canada 150 special will also be carried on the BC-1 all-news channel, CHEX-TV Peterborough, CKWS-TV Kingston, and NTV Newfoundland, streamed in its entirety on Globalnews.ca, plus on Facebook and Periscope.
